Any type of logo should target a certain audience of public viewers. A logo should represent exactly what type of products or services that are being offered by your business or company. Some of the cutest and most whimsical logos created are pet logos. This type of logo is used by pet supply stores, pet clubs, vets, protective societies and other pet related organizations and businesses. Well-designed pet logos will help to promote your business bringing lucrative success. In order to create the best possible pet logo, there are certain elements of design that must be included in the process. These design elements are briefly discussed in the following.
Choosing an Image for the Design
Not every pet logo uses an image of a dog or cat. Some utilize images of birds, monkeys, snakes and other animals or reptiles. Many choose to use an image of an animal or bird that is related to the type of business or organization. Be sure to choose an image that has very little detail. Most logos only use the outline of the image. Therefore, detail is not important. Placing too many detail in your logo can have a negative effect on the success. Too much detail can overwhelm the entire design.
Careful Color Selections
Unlike other logo designs, pet logos can be designed using nearly any color. Most logos contain only two colors. However, you can use up to three without risking a tacky appearance. Many pet logos contain colors such as yellow, red, blue, orange, brown and other shades of these colors. It is best to choose colors that contrast well with one another in order to create an impressive logo. Chosen colors should also complement the image chosen for your pet logo.
Styles of Font and Text
Pet logos often contain some sort of text. This text may only be the name of the business, company or organization. It may also be a phrase, sales pitch, quote or slogan related to the type of business. Regardless of what type of text you plan to use, the number of words should be limited to four or five. If too many words are used, the design may take on a cluttered appearance and be less memorable in the mind of the public. You can position the text in any position within the logo. Most choose to locate text along the bottom of the logo or around the image used in a circular arrangement.
After you have selected the text, you must choose a styled of font. Font styles may vary greatly for pet logos. Most use a large block style font. Comic Sans and Ariel are often seen in this type of logo. Font is usually place in a bold typeface to better emphasize the text and make it stand out more. Potential clients and customers are often drawn to a logo through what is being said. A catchy phrase will often linger in the minds of the viewer.
