When it comes to getting your business recognized in your market niche, logos can be a big benefit. In fact, some of the most easily recognizable logos on the planet are found in the service and industries market. For instance, you would more than likely recognize logos for the planet's most popular soft drinks, Pepsi and Coca-Cola and you would likely be able to spot McDonald's Golden Arches logo above all others in the fast food industry. There are many logos that are so ingrained into our minds that they are automatically associated with the product or company that they represent. The reason for the fame of these logos is that they are super distinctive. These logos are well-suited to their respective businesses and the products that these businesses offer. For example, the Golden Arches of McDonald's fame are a cartoon-like rendition of the letter "M", and are usually displayed in a manner that puts them dozens of feet above other signs in the area where restaurants are located. These giant "Ms" have been guiding hungry travelers and tourists to hot, fast food for generations, and are quite visible from nearly any exit ramp when traveling the highways and bi-ways of America.
So how can your logo compete? A successful logo is a combination of a number of things, including:
Color. The color combination of your logo is quite important. Colors tend to have a lasting effect on how the human eye perceives things. The things that are impressive to us are generally impressive due to the use of color in the objet. The retina of the human eye is attracted automatically to the color green, for example. The important once choosing the best logo colors can never be overstated.
Font. The font choice for the words in your logo is also an important component of logo design. This is particularly true when we are talking about services and industries logos. Your font should be simple enough to be readable by the masses and bold enough so that people can easily see it. Only one font per logo should be chosen.
Word choice. Most people tend to go with the name of the company but they might also have a tag line or slogan to include.
Style. Logo style is quite a big consideration. Style should be based on the service that is being portrayed. Depending on the service's nature, informal and formal styles are available.
Each of these factors is of importance when designing services and industries logos. It is also important that your logo be memorable. A memorable logo is one that will stick in the minds of viewers no matter what it is imprinted or printed upon. For instance, your logo should be memorable on a hat in blazing color or in a black-and-white format on your company letterhead. The end result should be the same. The customer or potential customer or client viewing the logo should be able to see the logo and relate it to your company.
